That typically happens around the 3rd or 4th week of the following session.

Why does it take so long to put a generic patch in an envelope? It's not a science project.

you know the way that things go when what you fight for starts to fall and in that fuzzy picture the writing stands out on the wall so clearly on the wall
send out the signals deep and loud
and in this place, can you reassure me with a touch, a smile - while the cradle's burning all the while the world is turning to noise oh the more that it's surrounding us the more that it destroys turn up the signal wipe out the noise
send out the signals deep and loud
man i'm losing sound and sight of all those who can tell me wrong from right when all things beautiful and bright sink in the night yet there's still something in my heart that can find a way to make a start to turn up the signal wipe out the noise

Any number of reasons. Start of session is hectic (teams dropping/adding - schedule changes etc). Things need to be finalized. Plus there are tris from the last session to handle while this is all going on. Teams are also adding and dropping players up to week 4 so in addition to the normal processing of paperwork the office has to look for and handle this. If a player is from another area records need to be imported from that area and in general paperwork processing takes a lot longer. Since the timely delivery of paperwork is top priority the patches probably wait until things have been locked in for the session (week 5 as Joe pointed out).
I think the more apt question is if they are usually out by week 5 why do people feel the need to give the office grief on the forum - throwing little digs in implying they're just being lazy for not putting them in there or something? It's one thing to be curious and want to know when to expect them... especially if you're unfamiliar with the process. It's another to flame them. Bashing the office gets old!

I think it's all a bunch of bull.At the end of the session you know who got the mvp.I don't see where all these excuses about teams dropping and schedule changing has a thing to do with last session. You don't have a problem giving out patches earned during the session. You should at least repost the players that won the patch.

Read page 60 of the bylaws concerning the MVP patch program.
"Your patch will be sent to you in your team envelope by week # 4 of the following session."
Whether you think it's a bunch of bull doesn't really matter. That's the policy. Your MVP patch isn't as important as getting 1600 other teams prepared for the new session. Stop being selfish and think about the bigger picture.

Thanks for making my point!
This shows how most have no concept of what goes into running the league nor do they likely care. It's me, me, me and bash the league when they can.
As a final FYI an MVP patch is not like a break and run where they can look at the scoresheet and say a person gets it. There are 3 MVPs for each division and it is a contest with tie breakers (also described in the Local Team Manual). The office needs to review the records of those tied for the award and determine the winner... so despite what you believe they DON'T always know who won the award immediately and they delay figuring that out because the paperwork for the next session cannot be late!

I don't need to read the bylaws. And I'm surely not being selfish. For you to even make that comment to me shows me the type of representation we all spend our hard earned money to pay for.I always thinl of my team and others when shooting pool.I try to be considerate as possible. And considering you can get kicked out of the apa for certain reasons,i'm gonna stop right here.I enjoy shooting pool and won't let some league rep try to belittle me.For real, you all can keep them patches.I was just wondering if the winners from last session were gonna be reposted so i could see who got the patch. That is what this site is for.quote: Originally posted by Fran Kuhn

The argument that we're being rude when you start off your post the way you did doesn't fly! Only in the last sentence, after all the rhetoric, do you mention re-posting the winners. THAT is a legitimate question. The rest is just inflammatory... if you post that way then you're likely to get responded to that way and often time people miss the real point of your post. Had you posted just the last sentence you may have gotten an answer quicker.
You DO need to read the bylaws because it's in there when the patches will be awarded. We're simply informing you why it's week 4 or 5.
Now, to answer your question - We'll forward this to the office and see if they can't give us a PDF of some sort to post the winners after each session. The website is unable to do it dynamically.

I apologize if i come off seeming rude. All i really wanted to know was about reposting the winners.I'd like to see who is doing the best at their skill level.I understand running all the league operations can be overwhelming. And if you also play pool, your plate is even more full.I can be the bigger man and admit i came off wrong.I'll apologize to Mr. Fran personally.

Who talked badly to a customer
If someone wants to know why something takes so long and you explain it to them and they come back with a smart remark who's the one doing the "wrong way to talk to someone"
You seem a bit confused unless I missed something.
Your Dues entitle you to play pool which there are rules.
There are also rules for posting here on the forum.
You can lose both if you make a habit of using a site paid for by the League to bash them or their representatives.
And your right to continue to play pool if you make a habit of not following the rules.
Tell me where you work has never gave a rude customer the boot.
I don't think you can and be honest.
Someone was even man enough to offer an apology and it wasn't anyone that was talking bad to a customer which I thought was a very stand up guy.

I'm the customer. If anyone has read what has been said they would see a few minor words were exchanged between I,and 2 league reps.I sadid i thought it was a bunch of bull on how things work.I was told I was being selfish and inconsiderate and i need to look at the bigger picture. There are 1600 teams out there that are more important than me.I understand i'm just 1 person on one team.I do shoot 5 nights a week but that makes no difference.I also shoot for a bar that doesn't pay our dues, but that doesn't matter either. It doesn't matter that once I calculated it all up I spend around 4000 dollars a year just to shoot pool for the apa. That doesn't include drinks or food.So I apologizes to the 2 league reps I had correspondance with.I mean I'm only the customer, and the customer is suppose to always be right. But none of that is even the point. The A.P.A. can run and do things any way they choose.I just know that I'll no longer put my input into anything A.P.A. related.I'll just shoot pool this session and then take it from there.I give a big round of applause to all the hard work the league puts in for all of us league members.Again,I do apologize for being selfish and inconsiderate.Thank you.

It's a sad day when people cannot ask questions of the league office and it's reps and not be ridiculed and ridden or should I say ruled out just like they should have no say. People please consider taht we all pay to play. We do what the job requires. So do you. It's never ok for anyone to try to belittle the people anking the q

No apology needed jimmy, although I do appreciate you extending it.
Dennis, there's a right way and a wrong way to ask questions or voice your opinion.
If you have a question, ask it. Adding sny comments or flaming the league, it's policies or staff isn't necessary.
The moderators and reps that monitor the forum are here to assist members in any way they can. They volunteer their time to help others find things on the website, clarify rules, and maintain order in the forum as instructed by the league senior staff.
