Our home location just started enforcing a new dress code. No jackets, not boots, no open toe flip flops, hat to be worn with brim facing the front, only 1 necklaces to be worn that is shown, no baggy clothing and a few other rules. When I shoot, I sweat. My feet get very hot so I wear flip flops. Now with this new dress code, I will be at a disadvanage. I will be more worried about my feet sweating through my socks and shoes than shooting. Our city ( Salisbury, MD)has high crime but still, we need to be comfy. Any other location have similar dress codes?

I agree with most of the dress code and think that most places should have one but I do not agree with the flip flop part. Don't you think it easier to conceal things in regular shoes? LOL You can't hide a weapon in flip flops!!

I can understand The flip flops last thing i would want to look at are my ugly toes...But seriously This is not the 40's..where common was the dress shirt and pants and a smoky atmosphere in the pool rooms...The dress code is absurd i would find another place to shoot because I where my hat backwards sometimes or Have 2 necklaces on I'm some kinda of thug...get real and what is up with the boots..some people where cowboy boots all the time..and you cant wear a jacket if its cold..I think the place is try to profile a certain type of person that may wear there hat backwards or where excessive amount of gold...I remember and old friend of mine his name was sonny he wore more gold than Mr.t and he was not a thug or a gangsta

Sounds like prison. You must have some really wierd occurences or people where you go. Who realy cares, about the wearing of a hat. The only thing I agree is with the neck hanging issues. We played a team that a woman wore a scarf around her neck and it would hit the balls on the table. But as long as it does not interfere with the game itself. Be free to be who you are as long as you are not inflicting harm on others.

Find somewhere else to play where you can dress
the way you want to and be comfortable.

The only real "dress code" I've encountered in the APA is in my Sunday home bar. The boss doesn't allow hoodies up or sunglasses on in the bar. I agree with Heath... I would find another home location. We shoot in Hamilton on Sundays, in the city. We don't have a ton of crime, but it's not necessarily the best neigborhood and we don't have a dress code either.

do they have a safe environment and well maintained tables? if so, then why cry if they feel they need to limit customer clothing to keep out problems? there are many places where the general customer has no respect for the tables or the league shooters, and it sounds like this facility is at least trying to keep things respectful and safe for the shooters. If not being able to wear flip-flops is a go/no-go issue for you to be able to shoot, then find a bar, such as R&R in Laurel DE, where there is no such requirement, (in fact one of their tables is outside.)

Smileyd,,As a former police officer in Salisbury, MD, I can speak on how bad crime has shot up with in 3 years. The Eastern Shore has been making it in the national news here alot latley. We didnt have this much crime back in the day. With in 10 years, murders have doubled, robberies have tripled and CFS have gone through the roof. In 2009, almost every bank in Salisbury has been robbed. There are approx 19 banks. If anyone wants to check out JUST the city police departments CFS, salisburypd.com. They list every CFS. The stats. And then laugh. We are a city of no more than 20,000 people with more than 45,000 calls for service a year. Laugh.

I shoot out of Hagerstown Md. We do not have any problems up here and we dress to be comfortable. You are supposed to be having fun when you play, not worried about how someone is dressed.

Wear sandals; keep your feet cool & look much classier than flip flops.

I don't agree with the dress code they have put in place, but I would love to see all bars put in place that you must have your pants pulled up. The origin of this "fashion" statement needs to be told to these fools. It started in prison as a way to say your "available". I am tired of seeing someone's boxers. Don't they realize they look like fools?

Wow. Socialism in the APA. Sometimes its better to shoot where you are comfortable, house rules are house rules and it's a choise where you shoot. I can't say I agree with baggy clothes, boots, flip flops etc. but the dress in Baltimore is exactly that. Can you imagine if everyone wore tight pants and couldn't bend over to shoot?
